As explained by TikTok:
“TikTok’s photo posting feature allows you to connect with your community by sharing static images which viewers can swipe through at their own pace. As a publisher or brand, you have access to high-quality visuals that can captivate your followers, and this content format is the perfect way to showcase your brand images.”

TikTok’s also included a range of “insider tips” to help make your posts stand out, including:
- Your title can play a key role in getting people to pay attention to your image sets
- Try to tell a story with your images, and use text on screen and audio to compel viewers to swipe through
- Provide a direct call to action to drive viewer engagement and response
TikTok specifically notes the important role that descriptions in driving interest in still image posts:
“Write descriptive captions that will ensure your content populates in our search engines. You can have up to 4,000 characters for each post! With the extra space, you can include more storytelling or blog longer reviews, tips, knowledge, and inspirations, allowing you to get deeper with your audience.”
TikTok further notes that you should look to use a variety of keywords relevant to your content, or your brand, in order to maximize discovery value.
Finally, TikTok has also included a listing of trending photo post themes to help guide your thinking:
- Human interest pieces – Share personal stories, interviews, and behind-the-scenes glimpses.
- Event highlights – Bring your community closer to your brand events.
- Memes – Tap into culture or create your own relatable meme content to connect with your audience.

- Humor – This theme never fails, share a series of funny pictures from a campaign shoot, fails from a recent sports game, or anything that gets your audience switching out scrolling for laughing.
