Beyond promoting over-the-counter supplements and detoxifying green juices, the $2.1 trillion U.S. wellness industry is increasingly shifting gears to emphasize experiential retreats with a focus on longevity. Luxury resorts like the St. Regis Longboat Key are at the forefront of this shift. The 18-acre beachfront resort located in Sarasota, FL is targeting modern wellness consumers with its longevity-focused amenities.
Since opening its doors in 2024, the St. Regis Longboat Key has invited visitors to escape reality through peaceful swimming pools and a 20,000-square-foot spa, but now it’s further emphasizing longevity (a.k.a. beauty’s latest buzzword for living a longer, healthier life) through recovery, movement, mindfulness and hydrotherapy. Guests can experience bespoke spa treatments including sound therapy, seaweed baths, energy healing, relaxing massages and La Mer facials.
With head-to-toe restoration in mind, the spa’s hydrothermal area features a Finnish sauna, eucalyptus steam room, snow shower (yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like), vitality waters, cold plunge and sensorial showers. The St. Regis Longboat Key spa also hosts sound bowl sessions that allow visitors to float in a pool surrounded by “soothing tones,” with the goal of relaxing both the mind and body.

Visitors can begin their stay with daily sunrise fitness classes spanning meditative yoga, mat pilates and tension-releasing Yin yoga. Beyond the resort’s wellness-based experiences, guests can also swim with stingrays in its on-site lagoon, reserve private cabanas for poolside lounging and drift away in its winding lazy river.
