- Hard Rock Digital issued Ontario igaming license
- Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa opened its doors in 2025
- Ontario’s regulated igaming market is currently at 44 licensed operators and 76 gaming websites
Hard Rock Digital Canada Ltd. has secured an internet gaming operator license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) for its Hard Rock Bet platform, a development first reported in SNBET.ca.

One-Year License
The license was issued May 14 and expires May 13, 2027. Casino.org reached out yesterday to a Hard Rock Digital spokesperson for any details regarding launch date for the igaming site. We were told the company had nothing to share at this time.
The license news isn’t surprising. Exactly a year ago, Casino.org wrote an article quoting a senior industry source telling us then Hard Rock Digital had applied to AGCO for an igaming license. That was tied to its attempted purchase of PointsBet Canada.
Betr Entertainment at that point was in a competition with MIXI to buy Australia-based PointsBet. Betr’s plan was to spin off PointsBet Canada to Hard Rock in a USD $29.6 million dollar deal.
MIXI Deal
That, as industry people know, never happened, as MIXI bought PointsBet.
Hard Rock Bet is currently licensed and operating in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee and Virgina for online sports betting. The company is licensed in New Jersey and Michigan for online casino.
In 2017 Hard Rock International acquired a controlling interest in the Rideau Carleton Raceway in Ottawa, announcing plans to re-develop the site.
Launch Date Unknown
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa launched in 2025, a $350 million re-development featuring a 150-room hotel, expanded gaming floors, live table games and high-limit areas, multiple restaurants and bars, and the Hard Rock Live entertainment venue.
There will be questions around Hard Rock’s plans on melding their soon-to-be launched igaming platform with the land-based casino operations.
Ontario’s regulated igaming market is currently at 44 licensed operators and 76 gaming websites, according to the iGaming Ontario website this morning.
